Hi, I’m Steven Mills
I’m a mediator working across SEND, workplace, civil & commercial and community mediation, and have facilitated more than 1,000 mediations.
Before becoming a mediator, I spent over 25 years in commercial roles in marketing, business development and start-up environments.
About
-
Clarity can shift conversations that feel stuck. In many mediations, there’s a moment where something changes - a misunderstanding becomes clearer, or a practical option emerges that hadn’t been considered. These small shifts often change the direction of a discussion. My role is to create the conditions where that can happen.
My approach is calm and grounded, with an emphasis on clarity, fairness and structure. I support people to:
express their perspectives clearly
listen without interruption
understand what sits beneath the disagreement
explore practical, workable options
The aim is not to force agreement, but to create a constructive environment where progress becomes possible.
-
I have facilitated more than 1,000 mediations, including extensive work within SEND, as well as experience across workplace, civil & commercial and community settings.
This has involved multi-party discussions, sensitive conflicts and situations where communication has broken down or positions have become entrenched.
My experience includes cases involving high emotion, complex dynamics and the need to work carefully through differing perspectives to reach a clearer understanding or practical outcome.
Alongside my mediation work, I bring over 25 years of commercial experience in marketing, business development and start-up environments. This provides a practical understanding of how people make decisions, manage pressure and approach complex situations.
